Scenario: You tried to run the mminer script on Windows and get an error that the line is too long.
Reinstall MusicMiner in a shorter path, e.g. C:\MusicMiner instead of c:\Program Files\Recent\Fun\Music\MusicMiner.
Scenario: You tried to run the mmstart script and get unexpected operator errors from the bash shell.
You need to run the mminer command instead, the mmstart is for internal use only.
Scenario: MusicMiner starts up, but nothing really works, and the error message org.apache.torque.TorqueException: java.sql.SQLException: socket creation error is listed in the Messages tab and on the command line.
You have probably blocked Java in your firewall. You need to allow Java to make local connections from and to port 9001 for the connection to the database, even if it is not started as a seperate process.
Scenario: MusicMiner starts up, but nothing really works, and the error message org.apache.torque.TorqueException: java.sql.SQLException: Table not found... is listed in the Messages tab and on the command line.
The creation of the database has failed during the installation process for some unknown reason. You can manually create the database by running the command mmdb -c from the bin folder of your MusicMiner installation.
Scenario: If you install a new version of MusicMiner in a new folder you will start with an empty database.
Your can copy the db subfolder from the old version to the new version.
